Fleurian Filkins is a policy specialist at Feeding America, focusing on federal nutrition program policy analysis and rulemakings. They also serve as co-chair of Feeding America's LGBTQIA2S+ employee resource group and are a member of the National LGBTQ+ Anti-Poverty Network. Fleurian has taken an intersectional approach to addressing food insecurity and food assistance access for 5 years, working on food pantry access at SUNY Geneseo, and senior food insecurity as a Bill Emerson National Hunger Fellow at the DC Office of Planning. Currently, they're involved in an LGBTQIA2S+ equity exploratory group at Feeding America, focusing on understanding current approaches to serving LGBTQIA2S+ communities through the Feeding America network and opportunities for Feeding America to further help address food insecurity and poverty among LGBTQIA2S+ communities. Throughout their work, they strive to uplift and center the voices of people facing food insecurity and poverty.
